  • Enhanced support for a category of devices that apply to many smart home products — Intermittently Connected Devices (ICDs). Sometimes called “sleepy devices,” these are typically battery-powered devices like contact, motion, and temperature sensors as well as door locks and switches that need to conserve power for optimal operation and lifespan.

USB |Jun.

● Effective Immediately all ITLs authorized to test USB PD are now authorized to test USB PD with EPR.

● Products implementing EPR must be tested against 2 of the 4 test equipment. If Ellisys is used then another test equipment must be used to test the PHY and POW sections of the CTS.

Please note the following restrictions:

  • The USB-IF is not certifying products with more than one EPR capable source port at this time.
  • What this means is a product may be multi-port and have only one EPR capable source port but it may have more than one EPR capable sink port. Products may also have an SPR capable source port and an EPR capable source port.
